About Me
I am a Licensed Acupuncturist in NJ and NY, and an NCCAOM Diplomate in Acupuncture.
I primarily treat pain, as well as psychoemotional, reproductive, digestive and respiratory problems.
I first was introduced to alternative medicine as a high school exchange student to Japan, and received acupuncture when I was in college. Years later, I decided to study acupuncture on the graduate level, firmly believing in the physical and emotional benefits of this treatment modality, and intent on sharing it with others.
I practiced acupuncture in New York City for several years, and worked at a rehabilitation center in New Jersey, in addition to my private practice. I was an Assistant Supervisor at the Swedish Institute's Acupuncture Clinic, and taught acupuncture at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York City. I graduated from Wellesley College with a B.A. in Anthropology, and received my M.S. from the Swedish Institute School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. My style is influenced by Jeffrey Yuen, 88th generation Taoist Priest of the Jade Purity School. When applicable, I draw from my Tibetan Buddhist meditation practices, as well as my study of yoga and qi gong.
I believe in treating the individual to treat the condition, and healing by bringing awareness to a condition. I aim to practice with compassion and insight, and think that the ancient modality of acupuncture successfully can be used to treat problems of our society today.
